* § 27-2907. Department responsibilities.\n  1. No later than June first, two thousand fifteen, the department\nshall maintain on its website information regarding the collection and\nproper management of out-of-service mercury thermostats in the state.\nThe information shall include the following:\n  (a) a description of the collection programs established under this\nsection;\n  (b) a report on the progress towards achieving the statewide\ncollection goals set forth in this title; and\n  (c) a list of all thermostat wholesalers, contractors, qualified local\ngovernment authorities, and thermostat retailers participating in the\nprogram as collection sites.\n  2. No later than November first, two thousand eighteen, the department\nshall submit a written report to the governor and the legislature\nregarding the effectiveness of the collection programs established under\nthis section, information on the number of out-of-service thermostats\ncollected, how the out-of-service thermostats were managed, and an\nestimate of the number of thermostats that are available for collection.\nThe department shall use this information to recommend whether the\nprovisions of this section should be extended, along with any other\nstatutory changes. In preparing the report, the department shall consult\nwith mercury thermostat manufacturers, environmental organizations,\nmunicipal recyclers, and other interest groups.\n  * NB Repealed January 1, 2027\n
