Centrally fueled fleet program

§ 19-0319. Centrally fueled fleet program.\n  1.  The department shall develop a centrally fueled fleet program for\nlight duty and heavy duty vehicles, as specified in subdivision (b) of\nsection 7586 of the Act, unless the department has adopted a substitute\nprogram or programs for the centrally fueled fleet program, provided\nthat the substitute program meets the criteria set forth in section\n7511a(c)(4)(B) of the Act for administrator approval of such program.\n  2. Such centrally fueled fleet program shall be developed in\nconsultation with fleet operators, vehicle manufacturers, fuel producers\nand distributors, and other interested parties taking into account\noperational range, specialty uses, vehicle and fuel availability, costs,\nsafety, resale value of vehicles and equipment and other relevant\nfactors.\n  3. Such centrally fueled fleet program shall contain provisions\nrequiring that at least a specified percentage of all new covered fleet\nvehicles in model year nineteen hundred ninety-eight and thereafter\npurchased by each covered fleet operator shall be clean fuel vehicles\nand shall use clean alternative fuels when operating in the covered\nareas. For the applicable model years (MY) and vehicle types the\nspecified percentages shall be no less than the percentages specified in\nthe following table:\n           CLEAN FUEL VEHICLE PHASE-IN REQUIREMENTS FOR FLEETS\nVehicle Type\n                                              MY1998    MY1999    MY2000\nLight-duty trucks up to 6000 lbs.\nGVWR & light-duty vehicles ..................    30%       50%       70%\nHeavy-duty trucks above\n8,500 lbs. GVWR .............................    50%       50%       50%\n  4. Such centrally fueled fleet program shall also provide that the\nchoice of clean fueled vehicles and clean alternative fuels shall be\nmade by the covered fleet operator subject to the requirements of this\nsection.\n  5. Such centrally fueled fleet program shall require fuel providers to\nmake clean alternative fuel available to covered fleet operators at\nlocations at which covered fleets are centrally fueled.\n
