§ 3-218. Subpoenas; power to issue by boards of elections. 1.  The\nboard of elections and any of the commissioners thereof may require any\nperson to appear and attend before the board or a commissioner at an\noffice of the board and be examined by the board or a commissioner as to\nany matter in relation to which the board is charged with a duty under\nthis chapter, or in relation to violations of the elective franchise,\nand subpoenas may issue therefor.\n  2. When an oath is required or permitted by this chapter, any\ncommissioner, or an employee of the board designated in writing by it,\nmay administer such oath.\n
