§ 5404. Stay. (a) Based upon security in foreign jurisdiction. If the\njudgment debtor shows the supreme court that an appeal from the foreign\njudgment is pending or will be taken, or that a stay of execution has\nbeen granted, the court shall stay enforcement of the foreign judgment\nuntil the appeal is concluded, the time for appeal expires, or the stay\nof execution expires or is vacated, upon proof that the judgment debtor\nhas furnished the security for the satisfaction of the judgment required\nby the state in which it was rendered.\n (b) Based upon other grounds. If the judgment debtor shows the supreme\ncourt any ground upon which enforcement of a judgment of the supreme\ncourt of this state would be stayed, the court shall stay enforcement of\nthe foreign judgment for an appropriate period, upon requiring the same\nsecurity for satisfaction of the judgment which is required in this\nstate.\n
