* § 500-g. Commitment by United States courts. The chief\nadministrative officer shall receive and keep in his jail every person\nduly committed thereto, for any offense against the United States, by\nany court or officer of the United States, until he shall be duly\ndischarged, the United States supporting such person during his\nconfinement; provided such official shall not violate any of the\nprovisions of section five hundred-b of this article in receiving or\ndetaining such persons; and the provisions of this article relative to\nthe mode of confining prisoners shall apply to all persons so committed\nby any court or officer of the United States.\n * NB Effective until September 1, 2027\n * § 500-g.
