§ 675. Advice, consultation, assistance, examinations, analyses and\nreports. 1. A coroner, coroner's physician or medical examiner shall\nhave authority when necessary in his opinion to consult with and to\nrequest advice, consultation or other assistance from any officer of a\ndepartment of the state government, from any medical examiner of any\ncity or county, from any other coroner or coroner's physician of any\ncounty, or from the head of any public health laboratory, police\nlaboratory or state or municipal laboratory or from any member of the\nstaff of such laboratory designated for such purpose by the head\nthereof, or from any physician qualified to make postmortem examinations\nand to testify thereon; and to request from any such person such tests,\nexaminations or analyses and reports with respect thereto as are\nnecessary in his opinion, with respect to the body of the deceased or\nany part thereof or with respect to any other matter related to his\ninvestigation.\n 2. Subdivision one of this section does not empower a coroner,\ncoroner's physician or medical examiner to incur charges against county\nfunds except as authorized by the board of supervisors.\n
