§ 32-a. Medical cannabis patient reciprocity. 1. Subject to the\nprovisions of this article and the rules and regulations of the board\npromulgated thereunder, medical cannabis patients from other states\nwithin the United States, United States territories, commonwealths or\npossessions, or the District of Columbia are authorized to obtain\nmedical cannabis or medical cannabis products from a registered\norganization, provided such patient is deemed a certified patient or is\nregistered as a medical cannabis patient in their home state or\njurisdiction and presents proof of such certification or registration\nand a valid government-issued photo identification to a registered\norganization. Such registered organization shall then validate such\npatient and dispense medical cannabis pursuant to the procedures\ndetermined by the board in regulation.\n  2. Medical cannabis patients from other states or jurisdictions of the\nUnited States who obtain medical cannabis from a registered organization\nin this state pursuant to subdivision one of this section shall comply\nwith:\n  (a) all provisions of this chapter and all rules and regulations\npromulgated thereunder; and\n  (b) articles one hundred seventy-nine and two hundred twenty-two of\nthe penal law.\n  3. Certified patients in New York shall be authorized to obtain\nmedical cannabis or medical cannabis products from other states and\njurisdictions of the United States in accordance with the requirements\nset forth by such state or other United States jurisdiction.\n
