§ 3001. Corporate name; general. Except as otherwise provided in this\nchapter, the name of a corporation or a foreign corporation, or the name\nof representative and other offices in this state, which are open to the\ngeneral public and maintained by any banking corporation, wherever\nlocated, shall not be the same as the name of a corporation of any type\nor kind, as such name appears on the index of names of existing\ncorporations and foreign corporations of any type or kind in the\ndepartment of financial services or a name so similar to such name as to\ntend to confuse or deceive.\n
