Establishment of integrated pest management program

§ 148. Establishment of integrated pest management program. 1. There\nis hereby established an integrated pest management program for the\npurposes of managing insects, diseases, nematodes, weeds and rodents.\nSuch program shall include, but not be limited to programs of\ninstruction, research and development, the purpose of which is to\neducate the agricultural community and integrate programs of:\n  a. crop management and cultural practices;\n  b. field scouting;\n  c. economic threshold; and\n  d. chemical and biological control.\n  2. Such programs shall be developed and conducted in such a manner to\nencourage:\n  a. expanded research on biological and cultural pest management\ntechnologies, crop and pest resistance technologies;\n  b. use of sampling methods, economic thresholds, monitoring\ntechnology, pest forecasting, and the effects of weather on pest and\ncrop parameters;\n  c. development of computer programs and computerized information\nsystems for farmers and extension agents;\n  d. delivery of current and new integrated pest management technology\nto the agricultural industry through cooperative extension;\n  e. minimized levels of pesticides in feed, food and the environment;\nand\n  f. minimized economic losses due to crop, animal and stored grain\npests.\n  3. Such program shall identify and make application for all possible\nfunding sources in addition to those offered by the state.\n
