Authorization; alternative forms; variations

§ 3. Authorization; alternative forms; variations. 1. Any county is\nhereby authorized to adopt one of the alternative forms of county\ngovernment provided in this chapter in accordance with the procedure\nspecified in article fourteen.\n  2. Alternative forms of county government provided by this chapter\nshall consist of: The "county administrator form"; the "county manager\nform"; the "county director form"; and the "county president form".\n  3. In connection with any alternative form of county government, a\ncounty may adopt one or more variations in structure, organization and\ndistribution of functions authorized by this chapter. Any and each\ncombination of provisions for the government of a county and the units\nof local government therein contained which is authorized by this\nchapter is hereby declared to be one of the alternative forms of county\ngovernment provided by this chapter.\n
