§ 1000. Unclaimed condemnation awards. 1. (a) Any moneys held or owing\nfor the payment of an award made by a court in any condemnation\nproceeding and payable by a public corporation or other corporation\npossessing powers of condemnation, which shall have remained unclaimed\nby the person or persons appearing to be entitled thereto for three\nyears after confirmation by the court, together with any interest due\nthereon, less, when an award is payable by a public corporation, any\namount due such public corporation at the time of title vesting for tax,\nwater or any other liens on the same parcel the award was for, with any\ninterest due thereon, and any amount due such public corporation at the\ntime of title vesting or at the time of confirmation, whichever is\nlater, for an assessment on the same parcel the award was for, with any\ninterest due thereon, shall be deemed abandoned property. In any\ncondemnation proceedings in which the court shall have not made an\naward, any moneys paid into court, including interest thereon, shall be\nsubject to the provisions of article six of this chapter and this\nsection shall have no application thereto.\n (b) The issuance of a warrant for such an award shall not prevent an\naward from being deemed abandoned property if such warrant is unclaimed\nthree years after confirmation of such award by the court.\n 2. Any such abandoned property held or owing by such a corporation to\nwhich the right to receive the same is established to the satisfaction\nof such corporation shall cease to be deemed abandoned.\n
