The secretary shall appoint with the approval of the governor "directors" of divisions established within the authority and a director of communications. The positions so appointed are exempt from the Personnel Act [Chapter 10, Article 9 NMSA 1978]. The 2001 amendment, effective April 3, 2001, inserted "and a director of communications" at the end of the first sentence; and deleted "with the exception of the director of the child support enforcement division and the director of the medical assistance division who each shall be covered under the Personnel Act" from the end of the subsection.
