As used in the Health Care Authority Act: A. "authority" means the health care authority; and B. "secretary" means the secretary of health care authority. History: 1978 Comp., § 9-8-2, enacted by Laws 1977, ch. 252, § 2; 2023, ch. 205, § 2; 2024, ch. 39, § 2. The 2024 amendment, effective July 1, 2024, deleted "department" throughout the section; and in Subsection A, preceding "means the" added "authority". The 2023 amendment, effective June 16, 2023, changed the name of the humans services department to the health care authority department, and revised the definition of "secretary" as used in the Health Care Authority Department Act; in the section heading, deleted "Human Services" and added "Health Care Authority"; in Subsection A, after "means the", deleted "human services department created under the Human Services Department Act" and added "health care authority department"; and in Subsection B, after "secretary of", deleted "the department" and added "health care authority".
