The purpose of the Cultural Affairs Department Act is to create a single, unified department to administer all laws and exercise all functions formerly administered and executed by the office of cultural affairs. History: Laws 2004, ch. 25, § 2. Effective dates. — Laws 2004, ch. 25 contained no effective date provision, but, pursuant to N.M. Const., art. IV, § 23, was effective May 19, 2004, 90 days after adjournment of the legislature.
