The purpose of the Higher Education Department Act is to establish a single, unified department to administer laws and exercise functions formerly administered and exercised by the commission on higher education. History: Laws 2005, ch. 289, § 2. Emergency clauses. — Laws 2005, ch. 289, § 31 contained an emergency clause and was approved April 7, 2005.
