The secretary shall appoint, with the approval of the governor, "directors" of divisions established in the department. The directors so appointed are exempt from the Personnel Act [Chapter 10, Article 9 NMSA 1978]. History: Laws 2004, ch. 23, § 7. Effective dates. — Laws 2004, ch. 23 contained no effective date provision, but, pursuant to N.M. Const., art. IV, § 23, was effective May 19, 2004, 90 days after adjournment of the legislature.
