The "technology enterprise division" is created as a division of the economic development department. The division shall: A. enhance the business climate to encourage the start-up, relocation, development and growth of technology-based industry in New Mexico; B. promote an expanded, diversified technology-based economy, emphasizing areas that: (1) derive from the state's technological strengths; (2) provide a commercial advantage; (3) lend themselves to a distributed technology-based industry network; and (4) utilize imaginative state, federal and private partnerships; and C. attain sufficient levels of human, financial and physical resources to support in-state industries and attract new industries to New Mexico. History: 1978 Comp., § 9-15-16, enacted by Laws 1991, ch. 21, § 21. Emergency clauses. — Laws 1991, ch. 21, § 47 contained an emergency clause and was approved March 27, 1991. Repeals and reenactments. — Laws 1991, ch. 21, § 21 repealed former 9-15-16 NMSA 1978, as amended by Laws 1988, ch. 88, § 11, relating to short title of the Research and Development Act, and enacted a new section, effective March 27, 1991.
