The state is authorized to accept the provisions of the act of congress dated June 7, 1924 (43 Stat. 653) commonly known as the Clarke-McNary Act and the act of congress dated July 1, 1978 (92 Stat. 365) commonly known as the Cooperative Forestry Assistance Act of 1978, as amended. Compiler's notes. — The remaining sections of the Clarke-McNary Act appear as 16 U.S.C.S. §§ 499, 505, 515, 568, 569, and 570. The Cooperative Forest Management Act was repealed by P.L. 95-313, § 13(a)(4), effective July 1, 1978. The Forest Pest Control Act was repealed by P.L. 95-313, § 13(a)(3), effective July 1, 1978. The 2023 amendment, effective June 16, 2023, authorized the state of New Mexico to accept the provisions of the Forestry Assistance Act of 1978, and removed a reference to the federal Forest Pest Control Act; added the section heading "Acceptance of federal laws"; after "congress dated", deleted "August 25, 1950" and added "July 1, 1978 (92 Stat. 365)", and after "Cooperative", deleted "Forest Management Act and the act of congress dated June 25, 1947 (61 Stat. 177) commonly known as the Forest Pest Control Act" and added "Forestry Assistance Act of 1978, as amended".
