Every person in order to qualify as an instructor for a driver education school shall meet the following requirements: A. possess qualifications as prescribed by the bureau; B. be physically able to operate safely a motor vehicle and to train others in the operation of motor vehicles; C. hold a valid operator's or chauffeur's license; and D. pay to the bureau an annual license fee to be set by regulation of the bureau. History: 1953 Comp., § 64-35-4, enacted by Laws 1967, ch. 185, § 4; 1993, ch. 68, § 48; 2013, ch. 212, § 1. The 2013 amendment, effective June 14, 2013, removed the requirement that a person hold a valid New Mexico operator's or chauffeur's license to qualify to be a driver education instructor; and in Subsection C, after "valid", deleted "New Mexico". The 1993 amendment, effective July 1, 1993, substituted "education" for "training" in the section heading and in the introductory paragraph; substituted "bureau" for "department of education" and "state department of education" in Subsections A and D; and substituted "to be set by regulation of the bureau" for "of five dollars ($5.00)" at the end of Subsection D.
