Transportation network companies and transportation network company drivers shall not be subject to the Motor Carrier Act [Chapter 65, Article 2A NMSA 1978] or deemed to provide any transportation service as defined in the Motor Carrier Act. A transportation network company driver shall not be required to register a personal vehicle as a commercial vehicle or vehicle for hire. History: Laws 2016, ch. 80, § 3. Effective dates. — Laws 2016, ch. 80 contained no effective date provision, but, pursuant to N.M. Const., art. IV, § 23, was effective May 18, 2016, 90 days after the adjournment of the legislature.
