A. A communications assistant who is employed to translate or relay a conversation to or from an impaired individual is a conduit for the conversation and shall not disclose, or be compelled to disclose in any nonjudicial proceeding, the contents of the conversation. B. A person who violates the provisions of Subsection A of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be sentenced pursuant to the provisions of Section 31-19-1 NMSA 1978.
