In applying and construing the Uniform Foreign-Country Money Judgments Recognition Act, consideration shall be given to the need to promote uniformity of the law with respect to its subject matter among states that enact it. History: Laws 2009, ch. 142, § 11. Effective dates. — Laws 2009, ch. 142, § 14 made the act effective July 1, 2009. Applicability. — Laws 2009, ch. 142, § 13 provided that actions commenced before July 1, 2009 in which the issue of the recognition of a foreign country judgment is raised are governed by the Uniform Money-Judgments Recognition Act as if that act had not been repealed; and, that the Uniform Foreign-Country Money Judgments Recognition Act applies to all actions commenced on or after July 1, 2009 in which the issue of recognition of a foreign-country judgment is raised.
