There shall be two magistrates in Taos magistrate district, divisions 1 and 2 operating as a single court in Taos. History: 1953 Comp., § 36-1-32, enacted by Laws 1968, ch. 62, § 34; 1972, ch. 45, § 1; 1985, ch. 145, § 13; 2017, ch. 8, § 2. The 2017 amendment, effective June 16, 2017, eliminated the magistrate circuit court in Questa, and deleted the last sentence of the section, which provided "The magistrates shall rotate riding circuit to Questa on a regularly scheduled basis.".
