There shall be three district judges in the seventh judicial district. History: 1953 Comp., § 16-3-3.7, enacted by Laws 1968, ch. 69, § 13; 1977, ch. 132, § 1; 1995, ch. 178, § 2. The 1995 amendment, effective January 1, 1996, increased the number of judges from two to three. Temporary provisions. — Laws 1995, ch. 178, § 4, effective January 1, 1996, provides that the additional judgeships provided for in the act shall be filled by appointment by the governor pursuant to Article 6, Section 36 of the constitution of New Mexico.
