A. The secretary of corrections may employ individuals necessary to serve as sales representatives for the marketing of goods and services produced or assembled through the corrections industries division who shall be classified personnel and be paid in accordance with a commission-based incentive compensation plan approved by the personnel board for sales to purchasers other than state agencies and local public bodies not to exceed two percent (2%). B. The secretary of corrections may contract with persons or business entities to serve on an independent contractor basis as sales representatives for marketing goods or services produced or assembled through the corrections industries division.
