A. A delinquent child may be ordered by the court to pay restitution to the victim of the child's delinquent act. B. The department may provide compensation to a delinquent child engaged in a rehabilitative work program and shall promulgate necessary rules and regulations to provide deductions from that compensation for: (1) victim restitution ordered by the court and for transmitting those deductions to the clerk of that court; (2) the crime victims reparation fund and for transmitting those deductions to the state treasurer for credit to that fund; and (3) the reasonable costs incident to the confinement of the delinquent child. C. The deductions provided by Subsection B of this section shall not exceed fifty percent of the compensation earned by the child and shall not be less than five percent of that compensation.
