New Mexico Code § 32A-11-6

Court jurisdiction in placement of delinquent children. (Contingent effective date. See note below.)

Any court having jurisdiction to place delinquent children may place such a child in an institution in another state pursuant to Article 3 of the Revised Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children [32A-11-1 NMSA 1978] and shall retain jurisdiction as provided in Article 4 of that compact.

The 2023 amendment, after the first occurrence of "Article", deleted "6" and added "3", added "Revised" preceding "Interstate Compact", and after the second occurrence of "Article", deleted "5 thereof" and added "4 of that compact".
Contingent effective dates. — The effective date of the provisions of Laws 2023, ch. 118, § 4 shall become effective when the thirty-fifth state has enacted the Revised Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children as provided in Section B of Article 14 of the Revised Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children. The secretary of children, youth and families shall notify the governor, the executive director of the New Mexico compilation commission and the director of the legislative council service when the thirty-fifth state has enacted the Revised Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children.
