The secretary shall promulgate rules governing employment and operating practices and related matters for employees of the New Mexico state police. The 2015 amendment, effective July 1, 2015, provided for the reorganization of the department of public safety by providing the secretary of public safety with the authority to create rules for the department; in the catchline, deleted "and regulations"; after "The", deleted "New Mexico state police board" and added "secretary"; and after "rules", deleted "and regulations".
