The purpose of the Emergency Medical Services Act is to enhance and regulate a comprehensive emergency medical services system in the state as set forth in that act. Nothing in the Emergency Medical Services Act shall be construed to preclude a local emergency medical services system from adopting standards that are more stringent than those authorized by the Emergency Medical Services Act. History: Laws 1983, ch. 190, § 2; 1993, ch. 161, § 1; 2003, ch. 243, § 1. The 2003 amendment, effective July 1, 2003, rewrote the first sentence of the section. The 1993 amendment, effective June 18, 1993, rewrote this section to the extent that a detailed comparison would be impracticable.
