The "beginning teacher mentorship fund" is created as a nonreverting fund in the state treasury. The fund consists of appropriations, gifts, grants and donations. Money in the fund is subject to appropriation by the legislature to provide funding to school districts and charter schools for their beginning teacher mentorship programs. The fund shall be administered by the public education department, and expenditures from the fund shall be by warrant of the secretary of finance and administration pursuant to vouchers signed by the secretary of public education or the secretary's authorized representative. History: Laws 2020, ch. 24, § 1. Effective dates. — Laws 2020, ch. 24 contained no effective date provision, but, pursuant to N.M. Const., art. IV, § 23, was effective May 20, 2020, 90 days after adjournment of the legislature.
