The "council on technology in education" is created. The council shall advise the department regarding the establishment of appropriate educational technology standards, technology-enhanced curricula, instruction, appropriations for educational technology and methods for addressing digital equity in public schools. History: Laws 1994, ch. 96, § 5; 2023, ch. 161, § 4. The 2023 amendment, effective July 1, 2023, removed references to the former education technology bureau, and revised certain duties of the council on technology in education; and after "shall advise the", deleted "bureau the state board and the legislature" and added "department", and after "educational technology and" deleted "administrative resources and services for the public schools" and added "methods for addressing digital equity in public schools".
