Any person subject to Chapter 20 NMSA 1978 who, with intent to injure, disfigure or disable, inflicts upon the person of another an injury which: A. seriously disfigures his person by a mutilation thereof; B. destroys or disables any member or organ of his body; or C. seriously diminishes his physical vigor by the injury of any member or organ; is guilty of maiming and shall be punished as a court-martial may direct. History: 1978 Comp., § 20-12-56, enacted by Laws 1989, ch. 337, § 55. Effective dates. — Laws 1989, ch. 337 contained no effective date provision, but, pursuant to N.M. Const., art. IV, § 23, was effective June 16, 1989.
