As used in the State Trails System Act: A. "local government" means any county, municipality or other political subdivision of the state and includes rural communities and unincorporated towns or villages in the state; and B. "secretary" means the secretary of energy, minerals and natural resources. History: 1953 Comp., § 4-9A-2, enacted by Laws 1973, ch. 372, § 2; 1977, ch. 254, § 32; 1987, ch. 234, § 27. The 1987 amendment, effective July 1, 1987, deleted former Subsections A and B, which defined "division" and "director," respectively; redesignated former Subsection C as present Subsection A; and added Subsection B.
