52:27D-7. New Jersey office of economic opportunity continued in department of community affairs The New Jersey Office of Economic Opportunity created by Executive Order No. 17 of 1964, together with all of its functions, powers and duties, is transferred to and constituted the Office of Economic Opportunity in the Department of Community Affairs. Such office, by and through its director, shall continue to have all of the powers and shall exercise all of the functions and duties vested in, or imposed upon, it by said executive order or by any law, subject to the supervision and control of the commissioner. The Director and deputy Director of the Office of Economic Opportunity shall be appointed by the commissioner to serve at the pleasure of the commissioner and until their respective successors and appointed and have qualified; provided, that the persons in office as Director and deputy Director of the New Jersey Office of Economic Opportunity on the effective date of this act shall hold the respective offices of Director and deputy Director of the Office of Economic Opportunity in the Department of Community Affairs established hereunder at the pleasure of the Governor and until their respective successors are appointed by the commissioner and have qualified.
