44:4-92. When relief may be provided in home If adult poor persons own the property where they reside in whole or in part, or are receiving shelter in some other suitable home or habitation, and it is possible to maintain them more adequately and profitably within the intent of this chapter, the director of welfare, under the direction of and subject to the approval of the county welfare board, may provide for their permanent relief in such homes in lieu of committing or placing them in a welfare-house.
