44:1-108. Granting permanent relief where required of county of settlement Where permanent relief is required by a poor person in a municipality in which he has gained a residence and is an inhabitant, and of a county in which he has gained a settlement, the overseer shall proceed to commit and remove the person to an almshouse or welfare-house, except as otherwise provided in this chapter for partial relief in a home or otherwise.
