40:69A-149.3. Council; composition; mayor and councilmen; election; terms of office The council shall consist of the mayor and six council members. The mayor and council shall be elected at the general election to be held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. Except as otherwise provided in this article for council members first elected, the mayor shall serve for a term of four years and the council members for a term of three years, beginning on January 1 next following their election.
