40:60-25.4. Operating expenses; parking fees The rents and other costs and expenses incident to the improvement, lighting, maintenance and operation of any such public parking areas may be raised by general taxation, but it shall be lawful for the municipality to accept from any person, firm, corporation or association any contribution or donation to be used toward defraying the rents and other costs and expenses incident thereto and to charge any such fee or fees as may, from time to time, be fixed by the governing body of the municipality for the privilege of parking any vehicle therein.
