40:23-30. Stone furnished on request The board of chosen freeholders shall cause to be furnished and delivered, free on board at the quarry, to any such municipality, upon the written request of the mayor, chairman or other chief executive officer thereof, and to such person as he may designate to receive the same, so much crushed or broken stone, and in such quantities and of such size or sizes, as shall from time to time be requested, not exceeding five hundred tons nor less than one hundred tons in any single requisition, and the same shall be distributed and assigned by the municipal authority of the municipality and thereafter used under the direction of the person designated by such municipal authority or officer having charge and supervision of the public roads and highways in the municipality, for the purposes specified in section 40:23-28 of this title.
