26:2K-22. Pilot program A hospital having an accredited emergency service may apply to the department for approval to develop and maintain a pilot intermediate life support program in cooperation with first aid, rescue or emergency squads under regulations adopted by the commissioner. The pilot program shall be limited to rural areas. A pilot program that is approved by the department shall utilize EMT-intermediates for the provision of intermediate life support services. The program shall be under the direction of a licensed physician specializing in emergency medicine, who is affiliated with a hospital certified to participate in this program by the commissioner.
