19:32-1.2. Powers and duties The deputy superintendent of elections shall assist the superintendent of elections in the performance of his duties, shall serve as superintendent in his absence, and shall have such powers and duties as the superintendent may delegate to him from time to time. In addition, the deputy superintendent is constituted the chief deputy of the superintendent and shall have all of the powers and duties of the chief deputy. No county with a deputy superintendent so appointed shall also have a chief deputy appointed pursuant to R.S. 19:32-2. L.1982, c. 46, s. 2, eff. June 29, 1982.
