16:2-18. Change of name; certificate; filing Any association of Baptist churches, incorporated under the laws of this state, may change its corporate name by a majority vote of its members assembled at any regular meeting, specifying by such vote the new name. A certificate of such vote, stating the old and the new names of the association, over the hand of the presiding officer of the association and attested by the clerk, shall be filed in the office of the secretary of state. Thereupon such association shall be known by the new name so adopted, and shall, by such new name, have, hold and retain all its property, and possess and enjoy the same rights and powers and be subject to the same liabilities as if the name had not been changed.
