The franchise of a corporation authorized to take tolls may be taken and sold on execution at auction, the officer giving notice of the time and place of sale by posting a notice thereof at any tollhouse at which such tolls are or have been usually taken, and by causing a like notice, with the name of the creditor and the amount of the execution, to be posted at two or more public places in the town in which any tollhouse of the corporation is situate, at least thirty days before the day of sale.
