I. To protect the integrity of vital records and to prevent the fraudulent use of the records of deceased persons, the state registrar and clerks of towns and cities shall, on a monthly basis, match birth and death records and post the facts of death to the appropriate birth record and mark the record as "deceased." II. In the case of birth records marked "deceased," all certified copies shall also be marked "deceased."
