New Hampshire Code § 151:37

In this subdivision: I. "Commissioner" means the commissioner of the department of health and human services. II. "Department" means the department of health and human services. III. "Serious disability" means a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more of the major life activities of an individual or a loss of bodily function, if the impairment or loss lasts more than 7 days or is still present at the time of discharge from an inpatient health care facility, or loss of a body part. IV. "Surgery" means the treatment of disease, injury, or deformity by manual or operative methods. Surgery includes endoscopies and other invasive procedures.
