Nevada Code § 709.220

Undertaking by holder of franchise guaranteeing commencement of construction within 6 months from date of granting of franchise

The board of county commissioners shall, at
the time of granting any franchise provided in NRS 709.210 , require the applicant to enter
an undertaking to the county, in a sum to be determined by the board of county
commissioners, with a surety or sureties approved by the board, conditioned
that such applicant shall commence active construction of the electric light,
heat or power lines for which such franchise is granted within 6 months from
the date of granting the same and prosecute the construction thereof to completion
with due diligence; and failing to comply with the conditions of such
undertaking the applicant shall forfeit all rights to the franchise.
