1. Except as otherwise provided in NRS 633.315 , the Board may issue an authorized facility license to a person who intends to practice osteopathic medicine in this State as a psychiatrist in a mental health center of the Division under the direct supervision of a psychiatrist who holds an unrestricted license to practice osteopathic medicine pursuant to this chapter or to practice medicine pursuant to chapter 630 of NRS. 2. A person who applies for an authorized facility license pursuant to this section is not required to take or pass a written examination as to his or her qualifications to practice osteopathic medicine, but the person must meet all conditions and requirements for an unrestricted license to practice osteopathic medicine pursuant to this chapter. 3. If the Board issues an authorized facility license pursuant to this section, the person who holds the license may practice osteopathic medicine in this State only as a psychiatrist in a mental health center of the Division and only under the direct supervision of a psychiatrist who holds an unrestricted license to practice osteopathic medicine pursuant to this chapter or to practice medicine pursuant to chapter 630 of NRS. 4. If a person who holds an authorized facility license issued pursuant to this section ceases to practice osteopathic medicine in this State as a psychiatrist in a mental health center of the Division: (a) The Division shall notify the Board; and (b) Upon receipt of the notification, the authorized facility license expires automatically. 5. The Board may renew or modify an authorized facility license issued pursuant to this section, unless the license has expired automatically or has been revoked. 6. The provisions of this section do not limit the authority of the Board to issue a license to an applicant in accordance with any other provision of this chapter. 7. As used in this section: (a) Division means the Division of Public and Behavioral Health of the Department of Human Services. (b) Mental health center has the meaning ascribed to it in NRS 433.144 .
