1. The Board shall, upon application by a dental hygienist who has the qualifications prescribed by subsection 2, issue a special endorsement of the license allowing the dental hygienist to practice restorative dental hygiene pursuant to NRS 631.3129 . The special endorsement may be renewed biennially upon renewal of the license of the dental hygienist. 2. An applicant for a special endorsement allowing a dental hygienist to practice restorative dental hygiene must include in his or her application proof that he or she: (a) Holds an active license in good standing as a dental hygienist in this State; and (b) Has successfully completed a course on restorative dental hygiene. 3. A dental hygienist with a special endorsement of his or her license issued pursuant to subsection 1 may only practice restorative dental hygiene under the authorization of a dentist who is licensed in this State, unless otherwise authorized by NRS 631.287 or a regulation adopted by the Board.
