1. The superintendent of a facility shall adopt a policy concerning the manner in which to: (a) Document the orders of the treating physician of a child; (b) Administer medication to a child; (c) Store, handle and dispose of medication; (d) Document the administration of medication and any errors in the administration of medication; (e) Minimize errors in the administration of medication; and (f) Address errors in the administration of medication. 2. The superintendent shall ensure that each employee of the facility who will administer medication to a child at the facility receives a copy of and understands the policy adopted pursuant to subsection 1.
