1. Subject to the limitations imposed by subsections 2, 3 and 4, the Board shall adopt codes of ethics consistent with the constitution and laws of this State binding upon persons registered pursuant to the provisions of this chapter. Such codes of ethics must have as their only purpose the maintenance of a high standard of integrity, dignity and professional responsibility by members of the profession. 2. The Board shall prepare the code of ethics for architects. Before the adoption of the code, a copy must be sent to every registered architect in this State. Those architects may vote on each item in the proposed code. The Board may adopt each item unless 25 percent or more of the registered architects in this State vote against that item. 3. The Board shall prepare the code of ethics for residential designers. Before the adoption of the code, a copy must be sent to every registered residential designer in this State. Those residential designers may vote on each item in the proposed code. The Board may adopt each item unless 25 percent or more of the registered residential designers in this State vote against that item. 4. The Board shall prepare the code of ethics for registered interior designers. Before the adoption of the code, a copy must be sent to each registered interior designer in this State. Those registered interior designers may vote on each item in the proposed code. The Board may adopt each item unless 25 percent or more of the registered interior designers in this State vote against that item.
